The 21th Annual “K”
(Kisse(n)berth-Kisaberth-Kisabeth-Kuespert-Kispert) reunion was held Saturday
August 6, 2010 at the Beech Shelter in lovely Meadowbrook Park, Bascom, Ohio.
The event once again was a success as 32 relatives showed for the afternoon
gathering. In August 1991 we decided to combine the various related families
into one annual reunion and have not missed hosting our picnic in 20 years.
Various local “K” families held smaller individual reunions back in the 1920s &
1930s at Meadowbrook Park and area homes.
This is the same location where our pioneer ancestors settled. The Kisseberth
brothers immigrated from Nieder Kinzig, Hessen-Germany and purchased their
Hopwell/Loudon twp. farms in 1832 & 1842.
Our oldest family member was local Fostoria resident Credora Cockrell who will
turn 92 on September 2. She is a picture of health and still plays a little
golf. Donna Boreland, the daughter of our late centenarian Nellie Kisseberth
(1902-2003), was the 2nd oldest at 87 years. Our youngest participant was little
Max Medwid at 19 months.
The 32 descendants were from the 3 Kisseberth brothers, Georg Friedrich
Kisseberth (1806-1870), Johann Georg Kisseberth (1809-1860), and Johann Phillip
Kisabeth Sr. (1815-1892).
Our 21st Annual reunion will be held on August 6, 2011 and again at the Beech
Shelter at Meadowbrook Park. Our “K” family website is www.kisabeth.com. We
would enjoy hearing from relatives with updates and news.
REMEMBER- you are only a
stranger but once!
